Technology

The right light.
The right information.
The right decision.

A good inspection result starts long before the algorithm. We develop image acquisition, evaluation and integration as a coherent system.

01 / Image acquisition

Quality visible
make.

We match the camera, optics and lighting to component geometry, material and inspection feature. The decisive factor is that a relevant feature becomes reliably visible in the image data.

Several perspectives open up complex components. Defined lighting creates reproducible recording conditions. QBIC Wheels combines these principles with a particularly high image information density.

02 / Image analysis

The method shall follow:
the inspection task.

Classical image processing and AI complement each other. The selection depends on the characteristic, variants and available reference parts.

MEASURE & INSPECT

Defined characteristics

Geometric features, positions and completeness are assessed using application-specific test methods.

DETECT & CLASSIFY

AI-based image analysis

Deep learning supports the evaluation of variable appearances. Representative image data and unique error classes form the basis.

Compare and Validate

Component demonstration

Performance is validated using agreed reference parts. The assessment covers detected defects as well as conforming parts that are incorrectly rejected.

03 / Automation

image processing;
which, in manufacture:
arrives.

The inspection result is part of a production process. Handling, communication and operation are therefore considered from the outset.

Positioning and triggering
Component handling and image acquisition are coordinated in such a way that the required perspectives arise in the intended sequence.
Robotics and Control
Robotics, axes and PLC combine the inspection task with the machine. Siemens and KUKA technology can be part of the project-specific concept.
Operating and Reacting
Test status, results and relevant messages should be comprehensible to the operator and usable in the process.
Transfer and document
OPC UA and the connection to higher-level systems are designed based on your data and interface requirements.

04 / System design

First the task.
Then the specification.

Which surface should be tested? How small are the relevant characteristics? Which variants, cycle times and environmental conditions does the system have to control?

These questions determine the technical structure. Together, we define inspection scope, interfaces and acceptance criteria.
